London producer Throwing Shade‘s shimmery, Emily Bee-assisted “cosmic R&B” confection “Sweet Tooth” gets a quite literal visual interpretation, as a bunch of dudes get straight up sugar-faced, honey-lipped, and candy-eyed by some unknown assailant. “Sweet Tooth” is taken from Throwing Shade’s 19 Jewels EP, out May 19 on No Pain in Pop. Recycle Culture‘s relatively slept-on In Transit was one of the best records of last year, and after a number of stylistically varied, also excellent releases, the prolific producer has released what he tells us is “the logical and spiritual successor to the headspace of In Transit“. You can download the 12 individual, moving/glowing ambient “pieces” of Puzzle Logic here, but you’re going to want to immerse yourself in the complete, beautifully rippling 28-minute mix:
Black Up remains one of our favorite albums of the last decade, so it goes without saying that we’re pretty psyched about this: riZe vadZimu riZe, the triumphant debut LP from Shabazz Palaces member Tendai Maraire, aka Chimurenga Renaissance, is out today on Brick Lane Records, and this is the beautiful complementary visual accompaniment for the album, filmed in Zimbabwe. Featuring sprawling next-level production, traditional African instrumentation (ngoma, mbira, hosho), and inspired guest turns from Maraire’s SP partner Ishmael Butler aka Palaceer Lazaro, THEESatisfaction, Militia Malimob, M1 of Dead Prez + more.
